For Students

Anyone with an active @live.mercer.edu or @mercer.edu email account has automatic access; all you need to do is claim your account. Go to mercer.givepulse.com and login using your Mercer credentials (just as you would for Canvas or MyMercer).

Once you login for the first time, you’ll be prompted to complete your profile. You can also edit your profile by navigating to the menu at the top right of the screen, clicking on the button with your name, selecting “profile” from the dropdown menu, then clicking the green “edit profile” button.

In the Edit Profile section, select “Settings.” Locate the checkbox marked “private” and check the box if you want your account information to be private.

First, log in to your Mercer account using your Mercer email address. Then navigate to the “edit profile” section. In the left navigation menu, select “Merge Accounts” and follow the instructions on the page.

On the main page of BearPulse, click on the green “Add Impact” button and fill out the form.

On the main page of BearPulse, click on the “My Activity” button and select “Impacts” from the dropdown list. Find the impact you want to change in the list. Click the  dropdown arrow on the right side of the row and select “Update.”

In the header bar at the top of the page, click “My Activity” and select “Groups” from the dropdown menu. Locate the group you want to share your service hours with, and click the down arrow on the right side of the row. Select “always share impacts” from the dropdown menu.

On the BearPulse main page, you can see events and opportunities by clicking on the “Events” tab under the Mercer logo. You can use the list, map, and calendar buttons to the right of the search bar to control the format of how you see the events.

BearPulse automatically populates a transcript/summary of your activities as you log them. You can view the list by clicking on the button with your name on the top right of the screen, then selecting “summary” from the dropdown menu.

If you’re enrolled in an undergraduate service learning course, you’ll receive an email from BearPulse@mercer.edu at the beginning of the semester inviting you to take a survey called the Service Learning Participation Agreement. If you click the link in the email, it will lead you directly to the form in your browser so that you can sign electronically.

If you have never logged in to BearPulse before, you’ll be asked to claim your account before you can sign the form. After you set up your account, return to the original email inviting you to complete the Service Learning Participation Agreement and click the link in the body of the email to access the form.
